About Eureka College

Eureka College is a liberal arts college in Eureka, which is a city in the US state of Illinois, serving as the county seat of Woodford County, with a population of nearly 5000 inhabitants, according to the 2000 census estimate.

Eureka College was established in 1855 and was founded by a group of abolitionists, who had left Kentucky because of their opposition to slavery. It was the first school in Illinois and the 3rd in the US to educate women on an equal basis with men. It currently offers its students bachelor's of arts and sciences and majors in areas such as accounting, art, criminal justice, mathematics, music and other.

Athletics

Eureka's athletic teams are known as the Red Devils and they compete in NCAA Division III. Their distinctive colors are maroon and gold.
